Family counselling provides a supportive space for families to address challenges and strengthen their relationships. Our experienced therapists offer comprehensive family therapy services to help families navigate a wide range of issues.

Through family counselling, you can:

  • Improve communication: Develop open and honest communication within your family.
  • Resolve conflicts: Find healthy ways to resolve disagreements and misunderstandings.
  • Enhance family dynamics: Strengthen family bonds and create a more harmonious environment.
  • Address specific issues: Tackle challenges such as blended family dynamics, adolescent behavior, or aging parent care.
  • Promote emotional well-being: Cultivate emotional resilience and support within your family.

Our holistic approach combines evidence-based techniques, such as systemic family therapy, to help your family develop effective coping strategies and build a stronger, more resilient unit.

Family Counselling — Frequently Asked Questions

Not necessarily. Family counselling is flexible — some sessions involve the whole family, others focus on specific relationships within the family (parents and a child, for example, or siblings). Your counsellor will work with you to determine the most helpful format based on what you're navigating.
Family counselling supports a wide range of situations — parenting disagreements, communication breakdowns, a child struggling emotionally or behaviourally, blended family adjustment, separation or divorce, grief affecting the family, and supporting a family member through mental health challenges. It's not just for crisis — many families come to build stronger communication and connection before things reach a breaking point.
Individual counselling focuses on one person's inner experience and goals. Couples counselling focuses on the relationship between two partners. Family counselling looks at the patterns and dynamics within the family system as a whole — how family members affect each other, and how the system can shift together. Sometimes a combination of all three is most helpful.
Yes — secure video sessions are available for families who prefer to meet remotely or live further from our North Vancouver and West Vancouver locations. For sessions involving children, in-person is often preferable where possible, but video is a practical option when needed.
